Quilting 101: Four Block Sampler
Dive into the world of quilting with our Four Block Sampler class. Designed for beginners and those looking to refine their skills, this class will guide you through the process of creating a quilt top. You'll learn to read rulers for accurate fabric cutting, follow a cut list, and master essential piecing techniques like strip piecing, half-square triangles, log cabins, and more. We’ll cover how to true up blocks, press seams correctly (an often-overlooked detail that can significantly impact how well your quilt comes together), and assemble your blocks and rows by following detailed diagrams.
Whether you're new to quilting or eager to sharpen your skills, this course will provide the solid foundation you need to embark on your quilting journey with confidence.
Materials needed:
1 yard of Fabric A, 1.75 Yards of Fabric B, and 1 yard of Fabric C.
The instructor will allow time in the first class session for material selection.
The supply cost for the class ranges based on fabric selected, batting, backing and finishing technique.
SUPPLIES:
-Basic sewing supplies (thread, seam ripper, pins, marking tool, etc.)
-Rotary Cutter
-Sewing machine
-Fabric marking tool
Optional Supplies
-1/4" piecing foot
-Ruler (6 x 24- or any size quilting ruler)
In this class, we focus on assembling the quilt top.
The pattern is included in the class fee!
