Advanced Sleep Mask and Pajama Pants Camp Rising 1st-6th

Students will make a sleep mask with soft minky and matching pajama pants in this camp.

This camp requires prior sewing experience at Five Eighth Seams.
If your child has taken fewer than 5 classes at Five Eighth Seams, please sign up for a beginner class first. This camp is designed for students who have completed Just the Basics or a beginner sewing camp and are ready for a more independent, skill-based project.

In this Advanced Sleep Mask & Pajama Pants Camp, students will create a pair of pajama pants and a sleep mask while building confidence with garment sewing and more detailed construction. This camp is a great next step for students who have taken a beginner sewing or fashion camp and are ready to work a little more independently.

Students will learn and practice skills like measuring, cutting, sewing seams, working with elastic, following pattern instructions, and finishing details. The sleep mask introduces smaller pieces and curved seams, while pajama pants give students experience with garment construction in a fun, wearable project. Our instructors guide students step-by-step in a supportive environment that encourages independence and problem-solving.

All fabric, notions, and supplies are included in the course fee, along with sewing machine use. There is no discount for bringing your own machine.

Quick Camp FAQ (Read Before Registering)

Which camp is best for my child?

  • Sewing: crafts, bags, pillows, fun projects

  • Fashion: garments + patterns

  • Quilting: make a quilt

  • Advanced: plushies, sleep masks, pajama pants

Can my child repeat a camp?
Yes! We switch up projects each session. Repeating beginner camps builds confidence and skills.

How do age groups work?

  • Rising 1st–4th: we do more prep (cutting/pressing) so kids can focus on sewing and finishing projects.

  • 5th–8th: students learn more of the prep work themselves.

  • Teen & Fashion 2: more independent, skill-focused.

Two camps in one day?
Yes, if times don’t overlap. We don’t provide lunch and staff take a mid-day break, so you may need to meet your child for lunch. Afternoon → late afternoon pairings work best.

Can parents stay?
Camp is a closed environment. We ask parents not to stay so kids can focus and everyone feels comfortable. Medical exceptions require prior approval + background check. (All staff are background-checked.)

Food & drinks?
Water only in the sewing area. Snacks must be eaten at a separate table if time allows.

Pick-up policy (all ages):
Please come to the classroom and check out with the teacher before leaving.

Safety & behavior:
If a child isn’t being safe, a parent will be contacted immediately. Safety is our top priority.

Weather credits only for store closure/mandatory evacuation/state of emergency.
