At Five Eighth Seams we foster a love for sewing by encouraging all sewers to be creative. We love teaching classes that start with the basics and add techniques as set by the pace of the student. We can make the class more about garment construction, quilting, crafts or home decor. They will NOT have a completed project each week. This is a weekly class that meets 1 hour each week.
To reserve your child's spot in a class, the full registration payment is required. PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE FIRST DAY YOUR CHILD WILL START the session. Seats are secured on a first-come, first-served basis.
This fee reserves your child's spot in our weekly sewing class at Five Eighth Seams.
INITIAL REGISTRATION FEES ($120)
Please pick the date of your first class to register. Classes will continue through May 2020
This payment reserves the student's seat in class and includes the following:
$80 (First month's tuition installment)
$40 Fabric, Machine Rental, Notions and other consumables used in class.
The $120 amount is non-refundable.
All enrolled students will attend weekly classes until the end of May '20.
The tuition is based on a semester fee, which is prorated if a student begins mid-semester. This semester fee is divided into 3 monthly installments of $80.This will start after their first month of classes. After your child's first month, you will have to pay a $80 monthly installment for each remaining 3 months, due by the 5th day of each month.
Note: The monthly fees are installments. Each month is always $80 regardless of number of weekly classes per month, following the CCSD calendar for holidays/breaks.
There are no makeups or credits for missed classes.
Your child will get a binder to organize the projects and patterns used though out the semester. Each week we will add to the binder, so it needs to brought each week if your child decides to take it home. Fabric and patterns are provided and included in the cost. We ask that students pick out their fabric and notions from Five Eighth Seams only.
We do provide the machines for class. This helps your student get the most out of the 1 hour time block. If you choose to bring your own machine each week you will need to get approval by the instructor and come early to class to set up. You will also need to make sure your child is proficient in that machine, our kids just the basics is designed to teach your child their own machine. This class is only a requirement if you are not using our machines. There is no discount for using your own machine.
