Come learn how to sew! This class is for ages 6-17.

The class is perfect for anyone interested in learning how to sew, have never had formal instruction, or are new to machine sewing.

New to embroidery and not quite sure where to begin? What is the right way to hoop? What stabilizer do you use for different fabrics and types of embroidery? What about monogramming? As I like to say, if it is not moving you can monogram it. Michelle will answer these questions and more. This a lecture class, no supplies needed.

Sewing 101. This class is for students who cannot commit to a five week course during the summer.

JUST THE BASICS is a PREREQUISITE for this class. It must be taken before the class begins. Beginners or intermediate; bag and adult garments. This class is for adults only.

Learn the basics of sewing on knit fabrics. This class is for beginner sewers with focus on construction, not fit. Come learn how fun sewing with knits can be! This is an adult class only. We have some great patterns to pick from, including the Linden Sweatshirt, Luna Joggers, and the Lodo Dress.

This is fun class to get used to drafting crafty projects and using heavy interfacing.

Looking for a holiday bonding experience with a family member? This class is designed for you and another to come sew togther. This could be a parent/ child, mother-in-law/ daughter in law, grandparent/grandchild really any combo will work. It is designed for a youth and an adult to work together to make 2 aprons. All fabric is included, and you do get to pick your fabric. This is just in time for Thanksgiving!

Beginner Quilt Class - Learn the basic of quilting: cutting, seam allowance, binding, etc.

This class is designed for all levels of home school children. This round will focus on garment making.

Open to children ages 6-10 First -fourth grade is ideal for this class. Fabric and patterns will be provided in the cost of the class. Students will use a provided material for projects, and they will get to pick out the fabric. The notions will be bought separate. They will NOT have a finished project each week. Please let the instructor know if you plan on continuing class for another round before projects are picked. Please double check the dates and times of your class.

Open to children ages 10 and up. This is ideal for fourth grade and up. Fabric and patterns will be provided in the cost of the class. Students will use a provided material for projects, and they will get to pick out the fabric. The notions will be bought separate. All students must have a pair of sewing scissors purchased at Five Eighth Seams or approved by the instructor. They will NOT have a finished project each week. Please let the instructor know if you plan on continuing class for another round before projects are picked. This class is designed to do more detailed projects. Please double check the dates and times of your class.

Private class scheduled with employee or teacher. Pricing varies.

Modern quilt guild monthly meeting. Must be member to attend.

In this 4 day camp students will make a skirt or pillowcase and a tote bag. If time allows they will make a zipper pouch as well. This is a great class for any one ages 6-8 that are new to sewing. All supplies are included in the course fee.

Private Parties

Get everyone together and have a fun night sewing! – NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

4-8 people – 2 hours – $40 a person

*included fabric and supplies to make a zipper pouch
This is not like a private lesson. These are set up for people that just want to have a fun night sewing. Most cutting and directions are done for them by instructors. 

No experience needed. Invite friends, co-workers, family or neighbors. We will provide machines unless you have your own. BYOB- bring beverages and snacks for a fun social night at Five Eighth Seams



Private Lessons

1 on 1 private   $50/ hour 
semi  private  (2-3 people) $35/ hour per person
 
If you have a group 4 or more, it will be treated like a class and $12.50  per person per hour.  Classes that are lecture heavy and not projects like Just the basics is $15 an hour.  Private lessons are different then private parties as they do not provide fabric or materials for the lesson.
