We started this business to help introduce people to a new, creative outlet. We love sewing and want you to have an amazing experience whether its shopping for a fabric, reading a pattern, assembling a garment or trying to find the next best notion gadget.
Do not hesitate to email Brooke at firstname.lastname@example.org, or Daniela at email@example.com or call the store during business hours at 843-225-3958. If we don’t have an answer right away, someone from our team will figure it out and call you back as soon as possible.
We can help you with pattern directions, online tutorials, fabric matching, thread matching, trim matching, or just about anything.
If we don’t have it, maybe we should! Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know if there is a product you need or wish we carried. We would love to hear from you!

PURPOSE: To establish appropriate deposit charges for all of our scheduled classes. To establish cancellation charges when reservations are made and then cancelled, which result in a loss of monies for our instructors.
DEPOSITS: Classes are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Full payment of class is required to hold reservations. Cost of class is based upon the particular class and is at the discretion of the instructor.
Weather: Weather related refunds will only be awarded so long as there’s a mandatory evacuation of our city, a state of emergency for our area, or we’ve decided to close the store because of various hazards.
Illness: We will recognize emergency illness as an excuse to miss class, but classes cannot be made up unless approved by the instructor.
Non-emergency: Non-emergency cancellations will not be refunded nor will you be allowed to make up the class you missed.
Individual classes that are a part of a series (i.e. Sewing 101/102 and Advanced Sewing) cannot be refunded for any reason. If you have to miss a class, your instructor will decide if it can be made up.
For project classes:
Up to 48 hours before class: Full refund is granted only if we can fill your space in the class. We keep a waiting list and will call on your behalf. If we cannot fill your space, you will only be refunded 50% of your deposit.
Within 48 hours before class: No refunds will be issued within 48 hours of the class starting. If you can find someone to fill your space, we’ll gladly accept them and they can pay you (acting as your refund).
This deposit/cancellation policy is not designed to deter people from making class reservations at Five Eighth Seams. Rather, it enables us to be a better business in regards to filling our class capacity. Many times sewers are turned away after a class fills and if a cancellation occurs, it results in loss of revenue for our dedicated instructors who’ve made special arrangements to be at the store outside of their normal working hours.
The class is perfect for anyone interested in learning how to sew, have never had formal instruction, or are new to machine sewing.
Open to children ages 7 and up 1 hour per week (except CCSD holidays/breaks) Sewing machine, fabric, notions, pattern & tools provided and projects will vary Students will use a provided material. Registration is ongoing: We are open to taking on new students at anytime as space allows.
New to embroidery and not quite sure where to begin? What is the right way to hoop? What stabilizer do you use for different fabrics and types of embroidery? What about monogramming? As I like to say, if it is not moving you can monogram it. Michelle will answer these questions and more. This a lecture class, no supplies needed.
